If you think you have been discriminated against, you have the right to complain to different state institutions. You must choose the relevant state institution, applicable to your situation.

In accordance with the Anti-discrimination law of Georgia, the Ombudsman shall monitor issues regarding the elimination of discrimination and ensuring equality. In the case of labor relations, you can apply to the Labor Inspection Service.

Ombudsman

The Ombudsman is in charge of implementing the principle of equality and non-discrimination. The Ombudsman is entitled to review the applications and complaints, prepare general proposals to relevant institutions or persons on the issue of preventing discrimination, apply to a court, according to the Administrative Procedure Code of Georgia, and request the issue of an administrative legal act or the performance of an action unless an administrative body responds to or shares a recommendation and there is sufficient evidence of discrimination. You can read more about the Ombudsman.

The Labour Inspection Service

The Labour Inspection Service is a state body supervising labor safety, protection of labor rights and discrimination-free working environment in Georgia.

Employees may use internal mechanisms for cases of discrimination. However, the existence of an internal grievance mechanism does not preclude the employee from applying directly to the relevant state body regarding a labor discrimination dispute. If you believe your employer has discriminated against you, you can apply to the Labour Inspection Service.
