How is your application examined?

After the Court has received your initial application, the organisational department of the Constitutional Court checks the formal (and not the content) compliance of the submitted materials within three days of the date of receipt.

The Constitutional Court examines cases in oral hearing, exceptions provided by law. The Court has the right to review the case without an oral hearing based on the written request of the applicant and/or the defendant.

How long will it take?

The consideration of the merits of a constitutional complaint shall not exceed nine months from the moment of its registration. Under exceptional circumstances, the Chairperson of the Constitutional Court may prolong the time-limit by no longer than 2 months.
